Google I/O- Live Stream, What to Expect and Everything You Need To Know

Google, one of the tech giant, no one expect a tech festival from them but it organizes one. Yes, Google I/O is an event held each year for all the developers around the Globe. It is like a meeting with Googlers. They share their insight, knowledge and detail about their products. Just like the last year, it will take place at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. This is where Google gives a peak of its upcoming products, new updates and much more. So let’s list all the things that we can expect in Google I/O 2018.

Android P

Another version of Google’s Android OS. The announcement of this new version was made in I/O 2017. But still, nothing is revealed that much. No one is much sure about what we are going to get in this latest update. Google Developers have not much revealed that much about it yet. But it is likely to say that it is going to make an appearance into this years event. According to ‘Engadget’ Android P will be having a gesture-based navigation system. But chances are that it is going to be pixel exclusive.

Wear OS

We already talked about the Wear OS in our previous post. Google made the appearance of this product just a few days before their event is about to start. Wear OS is just a new face of ‘Android Wear’. This renovation of the 4-year-old product is quite amazing. Now it will answer you back through watch speakers. Google has recently made big changes in it. They have increased the number of commands that it will perform now. Integration with the third-party application is also available.

Chrome OS

From past few time Google’s developers were working on building Linux app compatibility in their OS. And now they have reached goal point. The compatibility is finally achieved. This news was made out by Chrome Unboxed. With this, it will be able to run with Linux tools, editors and IDE’s on Chromebooks. This will it a chance to replace current traditional OS.

Google Assistant ||||

Most people are using it as a source of entertainment but it is actually more than. It has millions of voice command that it can perform to make using mobile more convenient. It is getting more rounded now. But now from ‘Ok Google’, it is moving to ‘Hey Google’.

Flutter

android P, flutter, google, io, chrome, fuchsiaAs I/O is an event for developers, we are more bound to see new tools for development of cross-platform apps. Flutters is one new ecosystem that Google built but it is in beta version. Google will surely be keen to introduce more developers to it in I/O. Flutter is best for developing applications for iOS and Android. It comes with separate UI design framework for both platforms. This makes it easier to have material like design. Also Flutter is an application development for Google’s experimental OS Fuchsia.

Android TV

A Google-branded Android TV stick has passed through the FCC, hinting that it might be unveiled soon. Although not confirmed, there’s a good chance it will make its debut at the I/O conference in May. Google’s stick will go head to head with products such as Amazon’s Fire TV. It should transform your dumb television into a smart one, giving you access to various streaming apps like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, and loads of others.

Google tends to thoroughly show off new hardware at a separate event later in the year, but the timing seems right for an announcement — after all, the company revealed its plans for standalone Daydream VR headsets last year, so talk of new devices isn’t exactly rare at I/O.

Fuchsia

android P, flutter, google, io, chrome, fuchsiaFuchsia is another OS coming as an experiment from this internet-tech giant company. If you still haven’t heard of it try to catch up fast. Google is been working on it from more than a year and it appeared in I/O 2017 too. Not sure if Google will introduce Fuchsia this year or not but we can still hope for good. It is said that it will be hybrid OS that will replace Chrome OS and Android OS. Ars Technica made a deep dive into this and said that this OS is barely functional right now.

Android Things

Android Things is closing in on prime time after Google released the final developer preview version of the platform last month. That was version eight for those keeping track. Given the timing and an event packed full of developers, it’s likely that we’ll see Android Things finally hit 1.0, a full two years after Google rebranded its IoT operation.

If you haven’t heard about it before, Android Things is Google’s platform to power smart home products, ranging from small IoT devices up to smart speakers and displays. Google says that the final version of Things will be based on Oreo and will power upcoming Smart Display devices powered by Google Assistant.

* Live Streaming

No one wants to miss this opportunity to meet this much awesomeness in such short time period. But the problem is many of us can’t make it to California. Don’t worry Google has already thought of it. You can stream to it live from their website during the conference. Also, you can watch it later on Google Developers YouTube Channel. The whole session will be available for you on their channel that you can have access to any time.
